The United Kingdom’s newspaper the Guardian recently published an article on the successes of a national Rights Respecting School Award.

In this piece, Anita Tiessen, deputy executive director of Unicef UK, is quoted: “It is wrong that all children in the UK don’t learn about their rights. Today’s evaluation report shows what a profound effect it can have not only on children, but teachers, school leaders, governors and parents.”

In January, UNICEF Canada will be launching their  Rights Respecting School program nationally. This program supports what teachers (as seen on this blog 🙂 ,  schools and school boards are already doing to respect the rights of children.
