I would like to introduce you to a very special school:  for the past two and a half years,  Cape Horn Elementary School  in British Columbia has been developing a rights-respecting approach to all they do at the school.

Recently students and teachers of the school were invited to showcase their journey of becoming a Rights Respecting School at  the British Columbia Representative For Children and Youth 2010 Summit.  It was an incredible day as students used their voices to explain what becoming a Rights Respecting School meant to them.  Highlights of the day can be found at http://www.rcybc.ca/Content/AboutRCY/2010Summit.asp.

This site includes a video in which students, teachers, school staff, and parents talk about the positive impacts becoming a Rights Respecting School has had on the school community.

If you would like more information about becoming a Rights Respecting School visit UNICEF Canada on the web.
